On March 9, 2017 the College of Agriculture and Life Sciences hosted the spring awards program honoring the best in the college of faculty and staff achievements. Those from the Department of Animal Science that were awarded were as follows:
- Christen Burgett, Lecturer Early Adviser Award
- Dr. Jodi Sterle, Associate Professor, Outstanding Service in Student Recruitment and Retention
- Robert Hubert, Teaching Lab Coordinator, P&S Excellence Award
- Dr. Curt Youngs, Professor, Outstanding Achievement in International Agriculture
- Dr. Patrick Gunn, Assistant Professor, Early Achievement in Extension and Outreach
- Mary Lents, Secretary, Merit Award for Achievement and Service
