Carcass Viewing in Meat Lab

The Champions Animal Meat Carcass Viewing took place on Friday, August 26 at 133 Meat Lab within the Department of Animal Science at Iowa State University.  Exhibitors and their families, buyers,  representatives from the Iowa Foundation for the Advancement of Agriculture, meats judging team students, faculty and staff attended this annual event.  Goat, lamb, heifer, steer and swine carcasses were available for viewing.    The meat from the Sale of Champions will go to local buyers Hy-Vee, Inc, Fareway Stores, Casey’s General Stores, Elanco Animal Health, Iowa Select Farms, Prestage Farms of Iowa, Kemin Industries, Kayla Atkins Foundation, Mike Petzenhauser Family, Iowa Wether Goat Alliance, Iowa Meat Goat Association, Central Iowa KFC Inc and Ankeny Sanitation.  For 2016 carcass and historical data from 1992 to present please click here.  For more information on the Sale of Champions event click here.
