Beef Teaching Center

The feedlot is an important part of our teaching operation.  We retain ownership of all our cattle to utilize the feed resources available in Iowa and to provide teaching tools for the students here at ISU.  We have cattle in various stages of development at all times of the year.  This allows us to use them for undergraduate teaching, Extension needs, Iowa Cattleman's Association events, and any other need that arises.  The lots are also used to develop young bulls and breeding stock as well as market steers and heifers.
