Visiting the Farm

As part of Iowa State University, the ISU Dairy Farm is intended to be an educational resource for students and the community. In order to insure the safety of visitors, farm staff, and animals, drop-in visitors are asked to stay in the foyer area, where the milking parlor can be viewed. Milking begins at 5am and again at 5pm and lasts about 5 hours.

Tours of the ISU Dairy Farm are available through prior appointment only. Please allow at least a week for arrangements to be made.

Special arrangements will be made for groups of pre-school or school age children. These groups may schedule to visit the farm and view the milking process. Tours are by prior arrangement only, and there are some restrictions. Please contact Mary Healey, 515-296-4219 for more information.

All farm visitors must comply with the farm Biosecurity Policy
