2011 New Initiates

The Iowa State University Block & Bridle Club strives to promote club objectives and member success through numerous club activities. Club members promote the Animal Science industry both on and off campus by hosting the annual Little North American Showmanship contest and organizing numerous cattle, dog, lamb, pig, and horse shows and sales throughout the year. Members promote high scholastic standards among one another by acting as a Peer Mentor and providing academic scholarships to worthy members. Block and Bridle Club members also give back to the Ames community by holding canned food drives, participating in VEISHEA service day, and donating tie blankets to the Mary Greeley Hospital. To develop closer relations with Animal Science students, the club holds barbeques for new students, hosts a winter semi-formal dance, participates in intramural sports, and holds a spring picnic to wrap up the spring semester.
