Many of Iowa State Block & Bridle Club’s events are based on tradition. The Little North American Showmanship Contest has been an annual event for the past 88 years. Even some of the more juvenile events, such as the livestock shows and the cake auction, play an integral role within our club’s annual activities.

Our club would not be as strong as it is today without our alumni who were so dedicated to animal science and Iowa State University. In hopes of creating ties with our past and building bridges to the future, the Iowa State Block & Bridle Club created the Alumni Association.

This year the Alumni Association committee hosted its second Alumni and Member tailgate at the Iowa State Homecoming Football game. Before the VEISHEA parade the 3rd annual pancake breakfast was held in Kildee Hall. Additionally, an alumni mailing list was updated and a bi-annual newsletter was sent out highlighting the current happenings of the club. Past members will continually be updated through such newsletters each semester.

We have bright visions for the future. We appreciate the monetary support we have received from various alumni, but more importantly, we hope to continuously build solid relationships to benefit both young and old, socially and professionally. With this in mind, we are planning to host more alumni events and eventually would like to organize a golf outing.
