Congratulations goes to the 2008 Dairy Challenge team who brought home Platinum again at the Seventh Annual North American Intercollegiate Dairy Challenge held in Madison, WI on April 4-5, 2008. At the largest contest held so far and hosted by University of Wisconsin, 32 teams participated at four dairy farms located around Madison. Team members are (L-R): Doug Bjelland, Tim Rauen, Interim Coach Lucille Kilmer, Katie Phipps, and Matt Jaschen.

Congratulations goes to club members Jessica Tekippe and Matt Jaschen. They were named College of Agriculture and Life Sciences Ag Woman and Ag Man of the year for 2008 at the annual National Ag Week BBQ.

The 79th Annual Dairy Science Banquet was held on March 2, 2008. Many students, alumni, faculty and friends were in attendance to honor graduates and award winners. The following students and alumni were honored:

Judging Team
Congratulations to the Iowa State Dairy Judging Team. The three person team consisting of Matt Jaschen, Jessica Tekippe and Morgan Welper, coached by Dr. Lee Kilmer, placed first in the Accelerated Genetics Intercollegiate Dairy Judging Contest held on September 16, 2007 in Viroqua, Wisconsin. The team placed first in reasons and first overall. Team member Matt Jaschen placed first in reasons and second overall, Jessica Tekippe placed third in reasons and third overall.

 

July 2007

Congratulations to Jessica Tekippe on being elected the new ADSA-SAD President at the ADSA/ASAS/PSA/AMPA meeting held July 7- 10, in San Antonio, Texas. Lorilee Schultz was also awarded the Genevieve Christian Undergraduate Student Award for her leadership, academic achievement, involvement in industry and participation in the Student Affiliate Division (SAD) and local club activities. Dr. Lee Kilmer was named the outstanding advisor. Morgan Welper placed second in the dairy production paper contest and Jessica Tekippe placed second in the dairy foods paper contest.
