Congratulations to the Iowa State University Dairy Judging Team who took 2nd place overall at the Southwest Intercollegiate Dairy Cattle Judging Contest held at the Southwestern Exposition & Livestock Show in Fort Worth, Texas in which 14 teams competed. The four team members competing in Fort Worth were: Macey Betcher of Plainview, MN; Emily Irwin of Belvidere, IL; Katie Kerndt of Lansing, IA and Mary Scott of Westgate, IA. In the Brown Swiss division Emily was 4 th , Katie was 6 th , Mary was 11 th , Macey was 18 th and as a team they placed 1 st . In the Holstein Division, Emily was 10 th , Mary was 13 th , Katie was 16 th and Macey was 19 th , and as a team they placed 2 nd . Mary was 13 th in Jerseys and as a team they finished 5th in the breed. In the Reasons division, Katie was 10 th , Mary was 14 th , and Emily was 15 th and the team finished 4 th overall in reasons. Lastly, Mary finished the contest in 7 th place overall followed by Katie in 12 th , Emily in 13 th and Macey in 22 nd place overall, thus propelling the team to a 2 nd place overall finish!
