Lauren L. Christian Pork Chop Open
Benefit Auction 2006
The 2006 Lauren L. Christian Pork Chop Open (PCO) Benefit Auction will take place on the evening of July 11, after the day's golfing and dinner. Proceeds from the auction support the Lauren L. Christian Endowment at Iowa State University. This endowment funds swine research through fellowship grants, scholarships, and program enhancements. It benefits the students and the industry Dr. Christian served and loved. Golf, lunch, reception and dinner is $75 per person.
Registration deadline for the Golf Tournament is July 3, 2006. Download the registration brochure here.
Those wishing to attend the reception, dinner, and auction only may do so for $25.00.

Symbol Framed Print
by artist Tom Phillips, approximate size - 32" wide by 28" high; matted, with
wooden frame. The original "Symbol" was developed to provide a graphic representation of the standard of performance and carcass composition that would provide a basis for improvement. Symbol was a 240 lb. market barrow with loin muscle area of 5.8 square inches and average backfat of 1.0 inch. At market age of 150 days, his 180 lb. carcass yielded 105 lb. of lean pork and demonstrated a feed conversion efficiency of 2.5 and a lean gain of 3/4 lb. per day.Donated by IPPA.
