On October 20th, the Block and Bridle Club's Meats Interest Group held their 10th annual Meat Your Future event. Meat Your Future is an opportunity for students to meet with industry professionals to discuss internship and career opportunities in the Meat and Food Industry. About 70 ISU students filled the classroom to capacity and met with professionals from the food industry. Representatives from West Liberty Foods, Kraft Foods, Cargill Meat Solutions, Tyson and Johnsonville presented the various career opportunities available at their respective companies. Sponsors for a barbecue dinner that preceded the program included Farmland Foods, West Liberty Foods, Johnsonville, and Kraft.
The keynote speaker for the evening was Rodrigo Tarte' from Kraft Foods. Dr. Tarte' is an ISU alum (BS, MS, PhD) and his talk was entitled Preparing for the future challenges in the Meat Industry.
