Another successful 4-H ROUNDUP | ||
| 4-H Animal Science ROUNDUP is an annual gathering of Iowa's 4-H and FFA livestock project members. The event is conducted by the ISU Department of Animal Science, Extension 4-H Youth Development, and state commodity groups. ROUNDUP activities are conducted at the Animal Science Department facilities on the ISU campus and the nearby research farms. | The purpose of ROUNDUP is to teach modern concepts and technologies in Animal Agriculture to Iowa 4-H and FFA members and to also introduce them to career opportunities in the field of animal science. ROUNDUP consists primarily of hands-on, experiential learning activities that cover a wide array of animal science related topics. Workshops offered include: computer simulation activities to develop feed rations and breeding programs, artificial insemination training, ultrasound determination of carcass composition in the live animal, equine training techniques, lessons in cardiovascular physiology using a treadmill with horses and much more! |  |
