| Congratulations to Marshall Ruble and the Beef Teaching Unit and Crew on a job well done. At the National Western Stock Show Angus Foundation Sale a heifer calf from a flush of an elite Angus cow sold for $14,000. This Q9111 heifer was purchased initially by Mountain Meadow Cattle Co. of Walden, Colorado. Since the sale part interest has been re-sold to Express Ranches of Oklahoma and RayMar Farms of California. A half sister sold for $3000. Marhsall also sold choice on five flush pregnancies for $5000. Also selling in Denver were embryos and semen from the Angus Breeding project to the following states:Iowa, Nebraska, Kansas, Oklahoma, Wyoming and North Carolina. All revenue from Breeding Project sales goes back to supporting the Angus Breeding project. At the Iowa Beef Expo Simmental Sale on February 13, the Beef Teaching had the high selling open female. This born and bred heifer from the teaching unit was third high selling female overall in the Simmental Sale. On February 16th the Beef Teaching farm sold an Angus heifer that was bred and born at the farm for $2500. |
