Animal Science Senior Earns Miss Rodeo Iowa Title

Amanda Eason, Clarinda, recently returned from the annual Tri-State PRCA Rodeo in Fort Madison with the title of Miss Rodeo Iowa 2007. Competing against two other talented contestants she was also awarded the Horsemanship, Photogenic and the Bob Britton Speech awards.
Eason is the daughter of Steve Eason and Alisa Eason and previously held the Miss Sidney, Iowa Rodeo and Miss Rodeo ISU titles. She is pursuing a degree in Animal Science and will be applying to the ISU College of Veterinary Medicine this fall. On campus she has been active in the Rodeo and Pre-Veterinary clubs, has been a teaching assistant and a campus tour guide.
As Miss Rodeo Iowa 2007 she will travel throughout the state and to other states to promote Iowa and its rich rodeo history. Her schedule will include open and Professional rodeos in Iowa, Cheyenne Frontier Days, NebraskaLand Days, and the San Antonio Livestock Show and Rodeo. The culmination of her reign will be at the end of November when she represents Iowa at the prestigious Miss Rodeo America Pageant where she will compete for over $100,000 in prizes and scholarships. For earning the title of Miss Rodeo Iowa 2007, Eason received a $1200 educational scholarship
