The Cows Have Come Home! |
| November 27, 2007 The Department of Animal Science at Iowa State University is thrilled to have the cows back home in the Ames area. Yesterday the cows started arriving from Ankeny to the new dairy farm located just south of the campus. At 8:30 this morning the first calf was born and by early afternoon the remaining cows from Calmar, Iowa arrived to get settled in their new home. Approximately 720 head of cattle were moved in 2 days time. Many thanks to Joe Detrick and the whole dairy farm crew for doing such a great job!  Des Moines Register Article on the Dairy Farm |
