<description> The Lush Symposium will honor Dr. Jay L. Lush who was a professor of animal science at Iowa State University from 1930 to 1966 and is considered the father of modern animal breeding. Dr. Dorian Garrick will be formally installed as the Jay Lush Endowed Chair in Animal Breeding and Genetics. Garrick joined the Iowa State University faculty in August, 2007.   The Symposium promises to be a great opportunity to learn, to meet new friends and reconnect with old ones as well as celebrating the legacy of Jay L.
