Research Dr. Stalder has an active research program that focuses on the needs of pork producers in Iowa, the U.S. and throughout the world. Dr. Stalder continues to investigate a variety of swine genetic and management related topics. His internationally recognized research work has focused on genetic and management methods to improve reproductive efficiency of sows with a special emphasis on sow longevity, lameness and other issues related to feet and leg soundness in the pig. Additionally, Dr. Stalder has conducted applied research that influences the management of growing-finishing swine to improve profitability. Furthermore, Dr. Stalder has conducted research examining genetic and management effects on pork quality as well as swine waste and nutrient management. | |
