About the Sessions

October 29, 30, 31 and November 1 & 15, 2012 IMPA, Iowa Meat and Poultry Inspection Bureau, CIRAS, and Iowa State University Meat Science Extension will co-sponsor 5 training session dealing with New Regulatory Requirements at various locations around the state The training session topics were chosen based on current USDA/FSIS Regulatory changes. 

There have been changes and updates to regulations and guidance materials for the testing of other Shiga-Toxin producing E. coli bacteria (STECs) in ground beef and ground beef components and updates in guidance for producing jerky and similar shelf stable products.

Additionally, there are new federal requirements for: Establishments to Notify Inspection Staff of Adulterated or Misbranded Product, Preparing and Maintaining Written Recall Procedures and Documentation of HACCP Plan Reassessments.  These new requirements will be reviewed.

The topic of updating your HACCP Plan will provide the latest information to improve your HACCP plans to prepare for upcoming changes in the validation requirements.  A review of the status of the validation requirements will also be presented.

The information provided at these sessions will be beneficial to both official and custom plants and federally inspected plants.  We look forward to your attendance.
