Institution: Agricultural Research Council, Irene, South Africa
Working in M.F. Rothschild lab
Resume
2006: Master of Science in Agriculture, Quantitative Breeding and Genetics, University of Limpopo, Polokwane, South Africa. The genetic analysis of female fertility traits and their relationship with yield traits in South African Holstein cattle
2007 to present - Researcher, Agricultural Research Council, South Africa. Responsible for the national genetic evaluation for fertility traits, Post-processing of data for national genetic evaluation of production, type and udder traits. Post-processing of MACE breeding values
Current interests: Identification of genetic polymorphisms in candidate genes related to milk production and composition, mastitis resistance and fertility, estimation of associations of the detected genes with trait phenotypes and incorporation of genomic and phenotypic data in the estimation of breeding values.
