This year the Block and Bridle team exceeded expectations by packaging 102,384 meals for those in need. On October 7, 2015, Block and Bridle, one of the largest student run organizations on campus, teamed up with Meals from the Heartland to provide meals for those in need. College of Ag and Life Sciences students, faculty, and staff as well as many members from the Block and Bridle committee took turns filling boxes with food essentials. The meals will be distributed across Iowa as well as across the rest of the world. Some of the businesses and individuals that helped sponsor the event are Elanco, Deb and Jeff Hansen Foundation, Seaboard Foods, ISU College of Ag and Life Sciences, Block and Bridle Club, Department of Animal Science, McLaughlin Dooley Farms, and John and Linda Fevold. Block and Bridle is a Department of Animal Science club and to present has over 600 members.
