David Bruene has been promoted to the position of Beef Farms Manager. David has spent the past 7 years leading the Animal Science Beef Teaching Farm. In this position he’s planned, delivered and assisted in the education of the undergraduate and graduate students, delivered outreach programming and assisted in a variety of research projects at the farm.
David is well represented in the beef industry serving on both the Iowa Beef Industry Council and the National Cattlemen’s Board. Additionally, this past year the Iowa State Beef Teaching Farm received the Beef Quality Assurance Cow Calf Award.
This position will align all the Animal Science Farms under a similar structure and allow for a single point of communication, planning and action. This structure will allow the Department of Animal Science to move forward in creating a Beef Teaching and Research Center of Excellence to better serve our land grant mission.
