Dairy Judging Contest Results

The junior dairy judging team competed on November 5 ^th, 2017 in Louisville, KY at the North American International Livestock Exposition Dairy Cattle Judging Contest. Team members included: Macey Betcher, Plainview, MN; Katie Kerndt, Lansing, IA; Mason Lettinga, Middleview, MI; Mary Scott, Westgate, IA; Alex Brand, Ellsworth, WI; and Logan Domeyer, Colesburg, IA. In the Ayrshire Division, Iowa State was 7 ^th Overall and was 1 ^stplace in the Brown Swiss Division with Mary Scott in 5 ^th place and Mason Lettinga was 1^st. In Guernsey’s, Mason was 12 ^th overall and Iowa State was 6 ^th as a team. Mason was 7 ^th high individual in Holsteins and as a team Iowa State was 7 ^th in Jerseys. Additionally, in reasons, Mary was 13 ^th and Mason was 1 ^st. Overall, Mary was 17 ^th high individual and Mason was 3 ^rd high individual overall which allowed Iowa State to finish in 5 ^th place out of 13 ^th teams.
