Department of Animal Science receives University Awards

Faculty and staff represented the Department of Animal Science at the ISU Faculty and Staff Awards ceremony held in the Great Hall Memorial Union on Monday, September 25.

Tom Baas received the Regents Award for Faculty Excellence. This award is presented by the Board of Regents to recognize tenured faculty members who are outstanding university citizens and who have rendered significant service to ISU and the State of Iowa.

XinHongwei Xin received the International Service Award which recognizes a faculty member for outstanding international service in teaching, research or administration within the US or abroad.

Chris Tuggle received the ISU Award for Outstanding Achievement in Research. This award recognizes a tenured faculty member who has a national or international reputation for contributions in research and who has influenced the research activities of students.

Lesa Vold received the Professional and Scientific Outstanding New Professional Award which recognizes a professional and scientific staff member who has demonstrated outstanding accomplishments unusually early in his or her professional career.
