Lauren Christian Swine Research Center

The Lauren Christian Swine Breeding Research Farm is a 200 sow farrow-to-finish operation. Research conducted at this farm revolves around genetics and reproduction research, additionally we can accommodate other studies such as animal welfare and handling, housing, and some basic nutritional studies. Pigs produced at this location are also utilized for studies conducted at our isolation facilities located near Ames, IA.

The gestation barn was built in 2006 and was designed with a state of the art scraper system that allows for solid and liquid separation to reduce odor. Each fall the removed nutrients are used to fertilize the nearby crop fields.
