The 1913 Livestock Judging Team was fifth at the International and first at the Kansas City American Royal. The American Royal Team raced away with more honors than has been secured by an Ames team for many years. Competing again four other colleges, Iowa won by a large margin. They won the big trophy of the meet, and three of the four cups offered for individual efficiency in judging. The team consisted of W. W. Reynods of Lodi Wisconsin, L. R. Marchant of Scranton, Iowa, Harley Walker of Swan, Iowa, H. R. Duncan of Ames, and A. J. Swift of Ridgeway, Pennsylvania. At the International, the team ranked first on cattle, third on hogs, fifth on horses, and due to a bit of hard luck, dropped to tenth place on sheep.
