This 1927 Livestock Judging Team placed first in competition with twenty-one teams from other ag colleges, having a lead of 44 points over Ohio, their nearest competitor. Forty correct placings out of a possible sixty established a new record. Ted Besh of the Iowa team was high man out of 110 contestants. Turner was third and Darbyshire tenth. Turner was also high man in judging sheep and Darbyshire high in judging horses.
