New Student Barbecue in Kildee Hall

This last Wednesday, August 24th,  marked the College of Agriculture and Life Sciences new student barbecue.  Students were invited to receive a free meal consisting of  pork burgers, brats, chips and cookies.  There were representatives from 26 different clubs at the event to share information about their clubs.  The BBQ was held in Department of Animal Science's Kildee Hall Farm Bureau Pavilion.  Mariah Schmitt, Dairy Science Senior and New Student BBQ Co-chair , says this event really helped her as a freshman to meet new people and have the opportunity to join clubs.  Edan Lambert, Animal Science Junior and New Student BBQ Co-chair says Freshman and transfer students get more acquainted with the college and it gives them a head start in getting involved in their four years at Iowa State University.  To watch a video of the event click here.
