Graduate College Fall 2020 Teaching Excellence Award – Leticia Sanglard
Congratulations to Leticia Sanglard for being recognized by the Graduate College for a teaching excellence award.
Leticia has been a teaching assistant for Swine Systems Management (Fall 2017) and Genetic Improvement of Domestic Animals (Fall 2018 and 2019). She was also a co-instructor for Genetic Improvement of Domestic Animals in Fall 2020.
“Leticia has been an exemplary graduate student. She tries every day to become a more and more complete professional by the time she graduates. Obtaining the Teaching Excellence Award from the Graduate College certainly shows her drive to accomplish this. As a Future Faculty Associate, Leticia showed an outstanding scholarship of teaching in AN S 352 this past Fall 2020 – an extremely challenging semester for all instructors. Yes, she was an excellent instructor – but even more, she was respectful, inclusive, friendly, and treated students with care. She made a period of physical distancing, a period of emotional presence. We are all proud and lucky to have her in our program,” said Nick Serão, assistant professor in the animal science department.
Additionally, Leticia is expanding her reach beyond Iowa State as she participated in the Preparing Future Faculty and Aspire NSF INCLUDES Iowa Mentored Community College Teaching Practicum with Des Moines Area Community College.
