Department of Animal Science hosts first Animal Nutrition Showcase

The Department of Animal Science at Iowa State University held their first one-of-a-kind showcase on animal nutrition for animal feed industry professionals on May 19, 2023.

This event was hosted by the Iowa State University Animal Nutrition group and included an exclusive tour of the state-of-the-art Kent Feed Mill, opportunities to engage with our top-notch graduate and undergraduate students who are passionate about nutrition careers, and reconnect with former colleagues.

Faculty gave nutrition program updates and research capabilities at our facilities. Graduate students presented on topics ranging from the nutrition of sick animals to the role of nutrients in growth.

Stephanie Hansen, professor and event co-chair said, "We want to express our sincere gratitude to each and every sponsor who played a crucial role in making our event a huge success. Your support and partnership have been instrumental in advancing the field of animal nutrition and fostering innovation."

This event had a great attendance and participation from the industry and we hope to continue the event in future years.

"We are truly grateful for your belief in our mission and your dedication to improving animal welfare, health, and productivity through nutrition. Your contributions have made a lasting impact on the success of our inaugural showcase, and we are excited about the possibilities that lie ahead in our continued collaboration," Hansen said regarding industry partners.
