Iowa State participates in 2024 Reciprocal Meats Conference

Earlier this summer, the meat science group at Iowa State traveled to the Reciprocal Meats Conference held June 15-19, 2024 in Oklahoma City. Learn more about the event and Iowa State's participation below. 

Presentations:

• Dr. Stephanie Hanson presented a concurrent session on Trace Minerals to Enhance Carcass Quality of Cattle Receiving Growth Promoting Technologies
• Dr. Daniel Unruh presented a reciprocal session on The RTE Shelf-Life Toolbox: Reliable Approaches and Techniques

Awards:

• Stephanie Major, undergraduate in ANS received 2^nd place in the undergraduate research competition
• The late Sherry Olsen was recognized with the Distinguished Teaching Award
• Cydne Jess competed in the MS poster competition.
• Deidrea Green got the C Boyd Ramsey RMC scholar award
• Jacob Ludeking received 9^th highest individual in the undergraduate processed meats competition
• Tristan Hann was a member of the Iron Chef team that received best beef dish and overall best dish
• Matt Wenger was elected to the AMSA Board of Directors
