Earlier this summer, the meat science group at Iowa State traveled to the Reciprocal Meats Conference held June 15-19, 2024 in Oklahoma City. Learn more about the event and Iowa State's participation below.
Presentations:
- Dr. Stephanie Hanson presented a concurrent session on Trace Minerals to Enhance Carcass Quality of Cattle Receiving Growth Promoting Technologies
- Dr. Daniel Unruh presented a reciprocal session on The RTE Shelf-Life Toolbox: Reliable Approaches and Techniques
Awards:
- Stephanie Major, undergraduate in ANS received 2nd place in the undergraduate research competition
- The late Sherry Olsen was recognized with the Distinguished Teaching Award
- Cydne Jess competed in the MS poster competition.
- Deidrea Green got the C Boyd Ramsey RMC scholar award
- Jacob Ludeking received 9th highest individual in the undergraduate processed meats competition
- Tristan Hann was a member of the Iron Chef team that received best beef dish and overall best dish
- Matt Wenger was elected to the AMSA Board of Directors
