Outreach Agility Classes lead to AKC's Agility League National Championship

Dr. Cheryl Morris, Associate Professor in the Department of Animal Science, started teaching outreach dog agility classes at the Hansen Agriculture Learning Center arena in the Spring of 2022. 

This Spring, she coached 11 dogs and their handlers to compete and qualify for AKC's 2nd Agility League National Championship.  The event will be held at Purina Farms, August 29 - 31 and Dr. Morris is leading 3 teams to the Championship.  The teams include: ISU Don't Go Bacon My Heart (7 members), ISU Cyclone Warning (5 members), and ISU Eggstra Special (5 members). Through the summer qualifying period, ISU Cyclone Warning has been 1st or 2nd every single round (nationally).

Dr. Morris is competing with 2 of her dogs, Zia and Cody. Zia is an 11-year-old "All American" and Cody is a 4-year-old, Australian Shepherd. Zia and Cheryl will be running for ISU Don't Go Bacon My Heart & ISU Cyclone Warning while Cody and Cheryl will run on ISU Cyclone Warning and ISU Eggstra Special.
