The
Iowa State University Dairy Judging Team competed in the All-American Dairy Show Intercollegiate Dairy Cattle Judging Contest in Harrisburg, PA. Thirteen teams competed in the contest, and the Iowa State team was comprised of the following team members: Emily Church, Cresco, IA; Kylie Oakland, Elgin, IA; Anne Simpson, Pine Island, MN; and Lexi Steffens, Clermont, IA.
The team placed 8th overall in Ayrshires with Anne finishing 6th in the breed. Kylie placed 15th in Brown Swiss and the team placed 9th. In Guernseys, Emily was 15th and the team was 10th. The team finished 9th in Holsteins with Kylie securing a 5th place finish. Additionally, in Jerseys, the team finished 5th with Kylie placing 15th. In reasons, the team finished 9th with Kylie in 15th place.
Lastly, the team rounded out the contest with a 9th place finish overall with Kylie being 15th high individual overall.
