On Sunday, September 28th, 2025, the Iowa State University Dairy Judging Team comprised of Emily Church, Cresco, IA; Anne Simpson, Pine Island, MN; and Lexi Steffens, Clermont, IA; made their way to the coveted colored shavings to compete in the 104th National Intercollegiate Dairy Cattle Judging Contest held at World Dairy Expo in Madison, WI. Team highlights include Lexi Steffens placing 1st in Ayrshires with the team placing 3rd, Anne Simpson was 7th in Brown Swiss and Lexi was 9th in Guernseys. Lexi was 9th in Red and White Holsteins and she was 14th in Reasons, and was 16th High Individual Overall. Iowa State finished 10th overall.

In early November, the Iowa State University dairy cattle judging team competed at the North American International Livestock Exposition’s Intercollegiate Dairy Cattle Judging Contest held in Louisville, KY. Team members included: Emily Church, Cresco, IA; Anne Simpson, Pine Island, MN; and Lexi Steffens, Clermont, IA. In the Guernsey Division, Emily placed 7th and Lexi placed 7th in Holsteins. The team placed 5th in Jerseys with Lexi in 7th. Lexi was 16th in Reasons and was 14th High Individual Overall. The team finished in 10th place in both reasons and overall out of 15 teams total.
