Saturday, January 30 marks the Biannual 2016 Tradition of Excellence Sale. The event will kick off at 9am with cattle on display for viewing at the Jeff and Deb Hansen Agriculture Student Learning Center. Lunch is provided by the Beef Sales team at the Hansen Center and then at 12pm a
Congratulations to the Iowa State University Dairy Judging Team who took 4th place last weekend at the Southwest Intercollegiate Dairy Cattle Judging Contest held at the Southwestern Exposition & Livestock Show in Fort Worth, Texas in which 15 teams competed.
The ISU Livestock Judging Team competed in Denver, Colorado at the National Western Stock Show and placed 10th overall. Kendell Steines was 7th in Sheep and Goats, Katlyn Kahler was 10th in Hogs.

Due to a private donation, Kildee Hall receives much-needed new furniture. A private donor wanted the donation to be used specifically for new furniture so students and guests would have a place to sit when visiting.

Four teams from Iowa competed at the AKSARBEN 4-H Livestock Quiz Bowl. Eighteen Franklin and Story county youth participated in the contest that was held in Omaha, Nebraska on September 26. Franklin County placed third in the nationwide competition. 4-H members answered question
This year the Block and Bridle team exceeded expectations by packaging 102,384 meals for those in need. On October 7, 2015, Block and Bridle, one of the largest student run organizations on campus, teamed up with Meals from the Heartland to provide meals for those in need.
