Research Themes include Molecular and Applied Ruminant Nutrition
Molecular Ruminant Nutrition Aspects:
- Mineral and vitamin metabolism
- Nutritional requirements of growing muscle and meat quality
- Transit stress
- Biological mechanisms explaining differences in feed efficiency
Applied Ruminant Nutrition Aspects:
- Ethanol co-products in cattle diets
- Preparing cattle for the feedlot
- Evaluation of novel ruminant feedstuffs
- Timely topics
Update:
Our Research facilities include a heated working facility, individual feeding capabilities for 138 head and an open-front building with 60 pens holding 6 head per pen. There is a feed mill and commodity storage on-site as well as 60 acres of smooth bromegrass pastures divided into 5 acre plots.
