By Iowa Pork Producers Association

The Iowa Pork Producers Association will hold its 6th annual Swine Spectacular on Saturday, Feb. 23, 2019, at the Hansen Agriculture Student Learning Center in Ames.  This is a pork education event for youth ages 8 to 18.  Each participant will receive a free t-shirt and compete throughout the morning to win various prizes.  Attendees can earn points in the following ways:  photo & essay entries (due Feb 11, optional), swine judging, a skill-a-thon, a written test and by attending the workshop.  Points are tallied up and the 5 youth with the most points in each division (junior, intermediate, and senior) are notified and they will then prepare for their interview/speech.  Awards follow when speeches and interviews are complete.  Swine Spectacular will begin at 8:00 a.m. and awards will finish up around 1:00 p.m., before the ISU Block and Bridle Club’s annual Spring Market Hog Show.  Register Below!
