Saturday, January 30 marks the Biannual 2016 Tradition of Excellence Sale. The event will kick off at 9am with cattle on display for viewing at the Jeff and Deb Hansen Agriculture Student Learning Center. Lunch is provided by the Beef Sales team at the Hansen Center and then at 12pm a private treaty bull sale takes place at the ISU beef teaching farm located at South State Avenue, Ames Iowa 50011. The Female Auction will take place at 1pm again at the Hansen Center. The event is hosted by students of Iowa State University. Students gain hands-on experience in seed stock merchandising as well as halter breaking cattle, clipping, photographing sale cattle, advertising, etc. Students who fully participate and satisfactorily complete the experience of hosting the sale will have the opportunity to receive academic credit (2.0 credits) in AnS 497: Livestock Merchandising.
