2019 Central Star Accelerated Genetics Dairy Cattle Judging Contest
The Iowa State Dairy Judging Team competed at the 2019 Central Star Accelerated Genetics Dairy Cattle Judging Contest at the Vernon County Fairgrounds in Viroqua, WI. Iowa State placed 9th overall in the Guernsey division, 5th in Milking Shorthorns, 3rd in Holsteins, 1st in Jerseys and 3rd in Reasons. Individual members received multiple high placings including: Nathan Arthur – 4th in Jerseys, 12th in Reasons and 16th High Individual; Taylor Currie - 2nd in Milking Shorthorns, 5th in Holsteins, 9th in Reasons and 17th High Individual; Carley Krull - 10th in Milking Shorthorns, 15th in Holsteins, 6th in Jerseys, 14th in Reasons and 13th High Individual; and Trevor Malven - 6th in Milking Shorthorns, 4th in Holsteins, 5th in Jerseys, 4th in Reasons and 3rd High Individual.
2019 World Dairy Expo 99th Intercollegiate Dairy Cattle Judging Contest
The Iowa State Dairy Judging Team competed at the 2019 World Dairy Expo’s 99th Intercollegiate Dairy Cattle Judging Contest in Madison, WI. The team marked strong cards and placed 4th Overall out of 18 teams. Division results include 3rd in Ayrshires, 9th in Brown Swiss, 9th in Guernseys, 3rd in Holsteins, 7th in Jerseys, 3rd in Milking Shorthorns, 9th in Red and Whites, and 3rd in Reasons. Individual placings include: Nathan Arthur – 11th in Milking Shorthorns; Taylor Currie - 1st in Guernseys, 5th in Reasons; Carley Krull – 5th in Holsteins, 1st in Jerseys, 10th in Milking Shorthorns and 4th in Red and Whites; and Trevor Malven - 8th in Ayrshires, 4th in Brown Swiss and 7th in Reasons. Trevor Malven, Taylor Currie and Carley Krull placed in the top 25 qualifying as All-Americans.
2019 North American International Livestock Exposition Intercollegiate Dairy Cattle Judging Contest
The Iowa State Dairy Judging Team placed 8th Overall at the North American International Livestock Exposition Intercollegiate Dairy Cattle Judging Contest in Louisville, KY. The team placed 12th in Ayrshires, 7th in Brown Swiss, 11th in Guernseys, 6th in Holsteins, 6th in Jerseys and 9th in Reasons. Individual placings include Carley Krull – 12th in Holsteins and 17th in Reasons; Ryanne Baker – 14th in Holsteins; and Rachel Grober – 6th in Jerseys and 12th High Individual.

2020 Southwest Intercollegiate Dairy Cattle Judging Contest
The Iowa State Dairy Judging Team had a successful run at the 2020 Southwest Intercollegiate Dairy Cattle Judging Contest held at the Southwestern Exposition and Livestock Show in Fort Worth, TX. The team divided into two, Team Cardinal consisting of Nathan Arthur, Harrison Furlow and Trevor Marlen, and Team Gold consisting of Aaron Gerdts, Rachel Grober and Cynthia Hamlett.
Team Cardinal placed 9th Overall being 10th in Brown Swiss, 9th in Holsteins, 2nd in Jerseys and 7th in Reasons. Individual placings included: Trevor Malven – 8th in Brown Swiss, 2nd in Jerseys and 11th High Individual and Harrison Furlow – 9th in Holsteins and 4th in Jerseys.
Team Gold placed 6th Overall being 7th in Brown Swiss, 7th in Holsteins, 7th in Jerseys, 7th in Holsteins and 3rd in Reasons. Individual placings included: Aaron Gerdts – 23th in Brown Swiss, 8th in Holsteins and 10th High Individual; Cynthia Hamlett – 9th in Jerseys, 6th in Reasons and 18th High Individual; Rachel Grober – 15th in Reasons.
