The Iowa State University Animal Science program is recognized globally as being one of the best programs for students to receive experiential learning. We boast state-of-the-art research facilities in swine nutrition and ruminant nutrition and have teaching farms in the areas of swine, sheep, beef, poultry, dairy and equine. Gail Carpenter will begin a new role on July 1 as assistant professor in dairy extension and outreach in the Department of Animal Science. Carpenter brings a high-energy approach to the position with a unique combination of practical production experience and enthusiasm for helping others through research, teaching and outreach in applied dairy cattle nutrition and management.
The Iowa State University (ISU) Dairy Farm Open House was brought to life again after a two-year hiatus and held on Friday, June 10th, 2022 from 7am to noon. Despite a rainy start to the morning, this free event saw close to 650 visitors throughout the duration of the event.
